OK – so tomorrow night is the Justin Bieber concert in Winnipeg, the city close to where we live. (It is about a 2 and a half hour drive….). I won’t even mention everything I had to go through to get tickets to this concert – but I would have done anything I had to in order to get them for my daughters.
My oldest daughter has decided that she is his biggest fan – and has been since she was in Grade 1. (She is in Grade 4 now). I have been listening to his music playing from her bedroom for years now, I went to his movie – and I have to say I think he is a wonderful role model for kids. (I have a post about that here on my Supermom Blog…..Justin Bieber – Great Role Model for Kids).
Now, I know I don’t really have a heart wrenching story or anything like that. And, I don’t think my kids deserve to meet him any more than any of the millions of other kids out there who love him.
But, I do think it would be an awesome way for me to say thank you to these girls for everything they had to go through last year while I was battling breast cancer. They had to watch me go in for a major surgery that required a long time to recover from. They had to be shuttled around to friends and family while I went through treatments, and in fact they even came with me to my final chemo treatment to sit with me and keep me company. They didn’t get to do all of the things they might have like to do while I was going through everything, and they have never once complained about anything they have had to do to help me.
They were my rocks over this past year, and I would do ANYTHING to give them something like this as a way to say thank you.
I know it is a one in a million shot – but I am going to do what I can:-) I started a campaign over at my Breast Cancer Blog – HopeWearsPink to see if I can manage to get them a chance to meet Justin somehow – while he is here in Winnipeg.
Wish me luck – and if you can help me to spread the word, I would be forever grateful!!! Send a Tweet, pass it on….anything you can think of:-)
A mom who wants to give her girls the best memory, and the best thank you gift ever…………
