Freelance Writing

I have had SO many of you contact me wanting more information about freelance writing.  Some of you want to know more about writing online, while others would like more info about possibly being published in magazines.  While I haven’t been published – yet! – I have been doing online freelance writing for a few years now.  So – without even more long-winded explanations, here are my recommendations:

Freelance Writing Online:

The best place to start, is by picking up a copy of my guide, which you can get here:

Freelance Writing Online Guide

It has lists of sites to get you started, and you will learn how each of them pay.

Then, if you are wanting to get into more ghostwriting gigs, then I would suggest you try:

Power Ghostwriting Course

I am going to be completely honest in telling you I have not taken this course myself.  However, it is put together by a mom who also happens to be a member at Earn1KADay – and I have watched her grow a very good ghostwriting business.  She is one of the nicest people you will likely “meet” online – and she knows her stuff, or I would never recommend the course.  If it is something you would like to learn more about, then I suggest giving it a try.

Freelance Writing for Magazines:

If you are interested in being published – which is definitely something you can learn about while you are writing online and starting to make some money.  Here are some resources to helo you get started:

First, I am going to recommend a couple of books which I have read and am in the process of reading again so I can take some good notes!

The Renegade Writer: A Totally Unconventional Guide to Freelance Writing Success (The Renegade Writer’s Freelance Writing series)

Make a Real Living as a Freelance Writer: How to Win Top Writing Assignments

Both are excellent books, and are must-reads about starting your freelance career.

Then, I would recommend joining the Writers Market site.  You get access to tons of places to publish your work, and have a lot of learning resources at your fingertips.

You could also join the MediaBistro site – which has a lot of learning material as well.

And, of course my highest recommendation, is to take the Writing for Magazines E-course that I have taken.  It is put together by Linda Formichelli – the Renegade Writer – and it is an excellent course for anyone who is serious about having a freelance writing career.  (I don’t get anything by sending you to her – but you can always say that I sent you;-)
