Never Underestimate The Direct Sales Opportunity
Thursday, June 5th, 2008 |I know that many people have heard the horror stories, and all of the “bad” things about network marketing, but why are there so many out there who have taken advantage of a direct sales opportunity who have made things work for them?
I don’t know all the answers, and I am sure that everyone has some pretty strong opinions about multi-level marketing, and direct sales.
But, I want to point out that this kind of thinking really isn’t fair. Why would you categorize all of these direct sales opportunities into one group? Would that not be like lumping all internet marketers into one category based on one who has scammed someone?
Or, wouldn’t it be like saying all phone calls for a charitable cause are scams because a few of them actually are?
I have no experience myself in direct sales marketing, but while doing my research for my WAHM guide, I actually became quit interested in learning a bit more about it. I too have heard the bad things about it, and there are so many people who go out saying that they are all scams and should be avoided.
But, then I noticed something quite interesting. There are literally hundreds, if not more, women on the WAHM forum that I go to that are involved in some kind of direct sales opportunity.
Many of these women are making a good living, and are doing something they enjoy.
The truth is, these opportunities are a great chance for people to get involved in their own business, when they may not otherwise have had the means to do it. The start up for many of them are very minimal.
And, there are a lot of companies out there that are actually providing a great product or service - they aren’t just focusing on the recruitment.
I admit that there are some out there that do things less than “above board”. But to say that they are all scams and to warn women to avoid them, I think, a disservice.
If you are hoping to work from home, and would like to get involved in a business of your own, don’t underestimate the direct sales opportunity. There are some good companies out there.
