Today I want to talk about honesty and integrity in marketing – which is something that is of interest to anyone who is thinking of starting up a business of their own.

I have been working online for over 2 years now, and much of that time has been spent learning and watching what others were doing.  The problem I have is that I am not much of a salesperson, which obviously is essential to marketing any business.

I have taken writing jobs for way less than what I felt I deserved to be paid for my time, because I didn’t want to seem pushy and demand the same payment that others were receiving for doing the same work.

Anyway, the point of my post is that the other day I was reading something that was written by a very well known and respected marketer who is making very good money.  He basically wrote a story with a message to follow that well known formula – “do unto others…..”

There are thousands of women searching every day for really good ideas for a home based business.  And, the internet has really brought a ton of great ideas that can be easily done by moms who want to work at home.  In fact, the internet has made the ability to make any business viable and easy to market.

Just to give you a bit of an idea, there are moms who have home businesses that are centered around a craft that they love to do.  What a great way to make money!  Doing something you already love, and marketing it into a business.

That is the power of the internet.

Do you enjoy sewing?  Set up a shop on Ebay or your own website to sell custom made clothing.

I am going to include a section here just for work from home scams.  There are a lot out there that you need to be aware of, and doing research before getting involved in anything online is always a good idea.

One scam I want to talk about today are rebate processing jobs.

There are unbelievable amounts of people searching for these kinds of “jobs” every dingle day!  But, from all the research I have done while putting my WAHM guide together, these are not legitimate ways of making money from home – and in fact you may end up being ripped off!

One that I ran across while doing my research is one being promoted and run by a woman called Angela Penbrook – and I strongly advise that if you run across one of her sites, (one of the sites is myrebateprocessor.com), you run the other way.  If you do a simple search on Google for “angela penbrook scam”, you will get some results that will explain what I mean.

There have been thousands of people – not just moms who want to work from home – who have been taken in by this one.  And, apparently she runs under different names as well, so who knows how many other sites she has out there.  There have been reports to the BBB, and other actions have been taken against her, but it seems likely that most of the people won’t ever get their money back.

I am just taking a minute to stop by and send wishes out to all of you.  I know that if you are stopping by here, you are most likely interested in learning how you can work from home.

I am very excited about this site!  I know that it is possible, and I want to be able to show you all how to do it for yourselves!  It is a great feeling to be able to be home, set your own hours and still be making money.  In fact, on Tuesday, I get to be a mom helper for my daughter’s nursery school field trip to the fire station.  It is wonderful to just be able to do that whenever I want.
